Yuvo

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 14 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Yuvo Android application ("Yuvo", the "App") collects, how it is used and the choices you have. Yuvo is published by the Yuvo team ("we", "us"), based in the United Kingdom. Contact: contact@yuvo.uk.

The short version: Yuvo has no accounts, no sign-in and no user profiles. We never ask for your name, e-mail address or phone number. The App works with an anonymous session, and the limited technical data described below is used only to run the App, show advertising, process purchases and understand how the App is used overall.

1. Information we do not collect

2. Information the App processes

2.1 Anonymous usage analytics

To understand how the App is used and to keep it stable, the App sends anonymous usage events to our own analytics service. This includes a random installation identifier generated by the App (not tied to your identity or device hardware), your app version, the Android version, the device model, the device language and country, and events such as which screens are opened, when a video is opened, and when advertising or purchase screens are shown. The data is transmitted over an encrypted connection and is used in aggregate to improve the App. The installation identifier can be reset at any time by clearing the App's data or reinstalling it.

2.2 Remote configuration

The App fetches a small configuration file from our servers when it starts so we can adjust features and advertising settings without releasing an update. The request contains the same technical information as the analytics events (installation identifier, app version, language and country) so the right configuration can be returned.

2.3 Country and language

The App determines your country from your SIM card or mobile network, or from the device's language settings when no SIM is present, so that content and advertising suit your region. This is done on the device; no location services are used.

2.4 Video content and the anonymous session

Yuvo does not host any video. Content is streamed from third-party platforms. When you use the App, your device connects directly to those platforms, which receive your IP address, the requests needed to play or search for videos and, if enabled, anonymous playback information used to fill the Recommended feed. No account is involved, and this anonymous session is stored only on your device; you can reset it at any time by turning off "Personalized recommendations" in Settings › Content or by clearing the App's data. The privacy policies of those platforms apply to that processing.

2.5 Advertising

Yuvo is free and supported by advertising delivered through HUAWEI Petal Ads (HUAWEI Ads Kit). To serve and measure ads, HUAWEI may process your IP address, device information, the Open Advertising Identifier (OAID) of your device, your country and language, and interactions with ads. You can limit ad personalisation or reset the OAID in your device settings (Settings › Privacy › Ads). HUAWEI's processing is described in its privacy statement: ads.huawei.com/usercenter/privacy.

Ads are not shown to users who own Yuvo Premium, and no advertising requests are made while a Premium entitlement or an ad-free pass is active.

2.6 In-app purchases

Yuvo Premium is a one-time purchase handled by HUAWEI In-App Purchases and your HUAWEI ID. We never see your payment details. HUAWEI shares with the App only what is needed to confirm that the purchase belongs to your HUAWEI ID (an order and product identifier and a signed receipt). The purchase is governed by HUAWEI's terms and privacy statement: consumer.huawei.com/en/privacy.

2.7 Crash reports

If the App crashes, a technical report (stack trace, app version, Android version, device model and the App's language and country settings) is prepared on your device and shown to you. It is not sent anywhere automatically.

2.8 Downloads and local files

Videos or audio you download are saved to the storage location you choose on your device. Yuvo only accesses the folders you grant it access to and does not upload any local files.

3. Permissions

The App requests only the permissions it needs: network access to stream content, storage access (only when you choose a download folder), the foreground-service and notification permissions to keep playback running in the background, and the ability to read the SIM country from the mobile network. The App does not access your camera, microphone, contacts or precise location.

4. How we use information

Where the UK GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interests (running and improving a free, ad-supported app), on the performance of a contract (Premium purchases) and, for personalised advertising, on your consent as managed through your device's advertising settings.

5. Sharing

We share information only with the service providers named above (HUAWEI for advertising and purchases, the hosting providers of our analytics and configuration servers) and only for the purposes described. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of users. We do not sell or rent personal data.

6. Retention

Anonymous analytics events are kept in aggregated form for up to 24 months. The random installation identifier is kept for as long as the App is installed and is discarded when you clear the App's data. Purchase records are retained by HUAWEI in line with its own policies and, on our side, only as long as needed to honour your entitlement.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to or restrict processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office). Because we do not hold any information that identifies you, most of these rights are exercised directly on your device: clearing the App's data removes your local history, session and installation identifier, and your device settings control advertising personalisation. For any other request, write to contact@yuvo.uk.

8. Children

Yuvo is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect information from them. An age-restricted content filter is enabled by default and can be managed in Settings › Content.

9. Security

All connections made by the App use encryption in transit. Our servers are protected by access controls, and the App includes integrity checks to prevent tampered copies from running. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International transfers

Our servers and those of our providers may be located outside your country, including outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised, and material changes will be highlighted in the App or on this website.
